For those of you, like me, who have never heard of a turducken, allow me to describe it to you. A turducken is a turkey stuffed with a duck stuffed with a chicken. It sounds excessive, gluttonous, and on the verge of morally wrong in so many ways. I can't wait to try it! Last year the big craze was deep-fried turkey (which I have yet to try), and this year it's turducken. I wonder if anyone tried to deep fry one of those yet...
One of the people who posted a comment on Yahoo!'s turducken page said that the turducken inspired his favorite creation: the pheaparquail! The pheaparquail is a pheasant stuffed with a partridge stuffed with a quail. (Five bucks says this person snubs their nose at ordinary chicken.) I don't even know where to buy a pheasant or a partridge, so this culinary delight will have to wait.
The mere idea of creating a culinary matryoshka doll is intriguing. (Matryoshka dolls are those wooden Russian dolls where you find one inside another inside another...) My first thought was the pilamacon: a pig stuffed with a lamb stuffed with bacon. That seems a bit large, though, and beyond my capacity to prepare in my NYC apartment. Besides, bacon isn't really an animal. *Obligatory Simpsons quote:
Homer: Lisa honey, are you saying you're never going to eat any animal again? What about bacon? So let's hear your best culinary matryoshka delight, and see who's cuisine reigns supreme!
Lisa: No.
Homer: Ham?
Lisa: No.
Homer: Pork chops?
Lisa: Dad! Those all come from the same animal!
Homer: [Chuckles] Yeah, right Lisa. A wonderful, magical animal.

Venison, goat meat, fish of your choice.
I have had turducken and have to say it was very good. Very heavy, but very good. I think your pilamacon is the best idea yet.
Awesome post.
turducken is a craze i think about every year, but can't wait to try. my mom will never make it.
however, my mom can take care of the go in vegoish
pelamacon...a lamb sandiwch between two slices of swine. mmm
"...a sewer rat may taste like pumpkin pie..."
in keeping with thanksgiving turkey, i propose porgoaurk (pork, goat, and turkey).
my brother had a bunch of his friends over last night for food. there were momos, rice, stews, achars, and goat meat. along with the goat meat, there was also a melange of cooked goat-ness such as liver, spleen, etc. but, the most popular side dish were the goat brains...with eyes. although i couldn't see the eyes.
Perhaps bacon wrapped filet mignon stuffed with lobster...called Bacomigster!
Deep fried turkey...that's huge down here. Always fun to watch the news the following day to see how many people burnt down parts of their house due to the massive amounts of beer consumed while they dip their turkey in a vat of oil in their garage...
My vote for ultimate meat indulgence...bacon wrapped in steak...wrapped in more bacon...a BASTECON!
I just totally left a comment here and google swallowed it up and pooped it out into space, where it will never be seen. Dang. My comment had to do with my discomfort with the idea of turducken, and also with horrible imaginings of vegan alternatives involving seitan and all sorts of gross gluten product.
